JJ & Dre
JJ & Dre
JJ & Dre initially formed in Chicago, IL as a trio in 2011 when the husband and wife duo of Justin and Andrea Dotoli met Jason Paradise at the city’s legendary Vic Theater. The two guitarists quickly forged a strong songwriting bond and found that they harmonized well under Andrea’s broad and powerful vocal range. The “J.J. & Dre Trio” spent most of 2011 performing in and around the Chicagoland area in a semi-unplugged setting while gradually working up the base of what is now, a strong and diverse catalogue of original material.

In 2012 the Trio began rounding out it’s sound and added keyboardist/percussionist Eric Allen to the fold. Allen’s versatility and soulful songwriting quickly became and influential element and added another style to an already diverse musical palette. In 2013, the band furthered it’s growth by adding Michael Schroeder on drums and eventually Janis Wallin on bass. The band has become a musical amalgamation of sorts in that it can comfortably bounce from rock to funk to a jazzy blues all without missing a step and still manages to find pockets for exploratory improvisation on stage.

Since 2012, JJ & Dre has released a full length debut record (2012’s One Single Event), 2 EP’s (2013’s The Bandits & 2015’s Clark) and is primed to unleash a new record in the Fall of 2017. (Details forthcoming). In the meantime, catch J.J. & Dre out on the road….the stage is where they’re truly at their best.
